Efficient wind turbines

More information on Bosch Rexroth’s wind energy solutions can be found here:

While wind power currently covers around 2.5 percent of global energy needs, it is becoming more significant. At 300 gigawatts, the cumulative capacity installed around the world has more than doubled in the past five years.

As a leading specialist for drive technology, Bosch has contributed to wind power’s breakthrough. Thirty years ago, the company developed the gearboxes for Aeolus II, at the time world’s largest wind park in Wilhelmshaven, Germany. In addition to robust drive technologies, Bosch now also produces hydraulic components and sensor-supported control systems. The latter can be used, for instance, to monitor the status of a single rotor blade 24 hours a day. This, in turn, helps ensure a reliable power supply.

In cooperation with universities and research institutes, Bosch is continuously working on further improving drive technology and increasing wind park operators’ efficiency.
