The “lost city of the Incas” lies 80 km northwest of Cusco, Peru. The Incas built the city in the 15th century at an altitude of 2360 meters, between two summits: Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu. Declared a Unesco World Heritage Site in 1983, the ruins have since become a tourist magnet.

The sheer volume of visitors poses not only logistical but also technical
challenges – tourists must be kept safe, the complete site monitored, and the access and ticket system controlled. Various parts of the ruins have Bosch video technology installed.
